Rising stars recognised at inaugural ProPrint Emerging 50

The contributions of 50 of Australia’s printing industry up and coming leaders were recognised at the 2019 ProPrint Emerging 50 event which was held at the Crusie Bar on Sydney Harbour alongside the Power 50, now in its ninth year.

The nominees for the Emerging 50, which received Exclusive Partner support from industry superannuation fund Media Super, came from all corners of the Australian printing industry and included a broad range of job roles from customer service, graphic design, sales, account management, trade apprentices and production and were recognised in alphabetical order with each recipient presented with a certificate of recognition.

The concept was created as a way to recognise the industry’s rising stars or those with ideally five years experience in the industry and as such is not linked to age but to industry experience.

Nearly 30 of the nominees were able to attend the event to receive their certificate and take advantage of the opportunity to meet with the leaders and key decision makers of the industry today.

Media Super Regional Manager for Growth (NSW/ACT) John Myers addressed the crowd and presented the certificates with Media Super business development manager Peter Cleary also in attendance.

Many members of the Emerging 50 members travelled to Sydney from interstate to accept their award and attend the event which received great support from all in the room.

  1. Recognition is a great motivator to bring and keep young professionals in our industry. I hope the majority of the honorees are not family-members but people committing to print for a purpose rather than a rite of passage.
