Roland announces strategic partners

The company showcased its Versa UV LEC-330 inkjet printer/cutter alongside software from CGS-Oris, EFI, EskoArtwork and GMG for the first time.

It said it expected a good level of business at the show as the collaborations had been led by customers already using those colour management systems.

“Integrating a colour management system from our partners with the VersaUV series gives customers greater flexibility and a greater capacity to produce labels and packaging prototypes,” said Kevin Shigenoya, product marketing executive officer.

Roland DG also hopes to pick up business from existing customers of its new partners.

“We are on the stand next to Esko and I can’t see any reason why we can’t get all their customers now that our machine fits with their technology,” said UK business development manager Steve Chappell. “We are aiming this at repro houses, long-run labelling and packaging businesses for prototyping, colour proofing and mock-up.”
