Roland DG launches new hybrid UV LED printer

Aimed at both the signage and general display markets the LEJ-640 uses UV LED technology rather than conventional UV, which means far lower heat, enabling the printing on a wider range of substrates. There is also no heat to disperse, and the LED lasts ten times longer than a conventional UV lamp.

Wall says, “The LEJ-640 is Roland’s first hybrid printer, and as such has both flatbed and roll to roll media ability. The flatbed can take stock up to 13mm deep.”

Pricing is one of the key benefits of the new printer, Wall says it comes in way lower than competitive UV solutions.

Also on the stand was Roland’s new BN 20, a 20” print and cut device which comes with Versa Works software. It will print CMYK and a metallic ink. The BN 20 was being prelaunched, release date will be available soon.

Attracting much attention was the new Versa UV LEF 12, designed for the personalised promotion market. Bed size is bigger than A4, and it has the capability to print onto items up to 100mm thick.
