Roland DG president retires after 30 years

Long-time Roland DG president Masahiro Tomioka has stepped down from his position after a 30 year tenure, and vice president Hidenori Fujoka will assume the role.

Tomioka will retain his role as representative director and chairman for the print manufacturing company, and Fujioka is said to bring experience from his time at Riso Kagaku Corporation to the role.

The leadership change comes on the back of Roland DG’s new mid-term business plan GlobalOne for the 2016-2020 period.

“As we look toward the next thirty years, we aim to use the GlobalOne platform to drive sustainable growth and create multiple pillars of business to meet the needs of the coming era,” says Tomioka.

Fujioka says, “We will unlock the full potential of our employees worldwide in order to realise new market creation with products and services that exceed customer expectations.”

Roland DG operates an Australian division of the Japan-headquartered firm, and has proved one of the most successful in the world for the group in the past 25 years, claiming majority market share in its sector.
