Roland DG releases sublimation solution

Wide format inkjet manufacturer Roland DG says its new Texart RT-640 sublimation solution, along with its finishing partner CS-64 calendar, will give printers advanced print control technology. RT 640-RZD The ‘advanced print control technology’ of the RT-640 is available in either four or eight-colour configurations, and backed with a three year warranty. The take-up unit includes an integrated bulk ink system, premium ErgoSoft Roland edition sublimation rip, as well as the option of the Texart CS-64 heat transfer calendar unit. The company says the printer in four-colour (CMYK) mode, Texart ink produces ‘bright colours with velvety blacks, improved grey scale and high quality, detailed output’. The manufacturer says in eight-colour (CMYKLcLmOrVi) mode, the addition of orange and violet ink produces an increased colour gamut with ‘exceptional reds and oranges and deep blues and purples’ while light cyan and light magenta provide ‘subtle gradations and beautiful skin tones’. Roland’s RT-640 is also equipped with a bulk ink system that uses airtight-sealed one litre pouches. CS 64 Jake Higgins, Roland DG Australia marketing team leader, says: “When in four-colour mode, the system provides two litres per colour, enabling Roland Ink Switching System to automatically switch to the backup ink pouch when the primary pouch runs out. Further expediting production, you can replace an empty pouch without stopping the printer.” The new Texart CS-64 calendar unit is designed to complement the RT-640. It transfers sublimation print produced by the RT-640 onto a variety of polyester-based materials used for flags, banners, soft signage, fabric for fashion, sports apparel and many other promotional applications, the company says. Roland says the ‘easy to use’ CS-64 sublimation unit uses a precision roller feed system and digitally regulated, infra-red heat to transfer dye sublimation print onto fabrics. The company says the ‘practical speeds of 40m/hr, and the option of an in-feed table, the CS-64 has the versatility to handle large roll volumes and small pre-cut fabric jobs with equal finesse’.
