Roland DG rolls out VersaWorks 2.7 free to customers

The latest version of the software features a new single-pass white ink print mode for Roland’s SolJet Pro III XC-540W 54 inch printer/cutter.

Brett Newman, Roland’s UK head of product management, said: “We are pleased to offer our XC-540W customers the ability to select either conventional dual-pass print mode, or new single-pass print mode for white ink applications.”

The single-pass mode enables users to take advantage of the XC-540W’s media take-up system for long, unattended production runs and large print jobs, such as decorative window graphics.

Dual-pass print mode is recommended for whenever overprinting is required and when the job requires an extended dry time.

Other new VersaWorks features include the ability to print CMYK and white ink together making it ideal for large production runs on oversized prints such as custom posters.

The software can also facilitate print and cut applications such as labels and decals, and reduces ink consumption while delivering brighter colour output and better opacity, thereby reducing production and maintenance costs.
