Roland DG’s top execs come together at show

When the wide-format manufacturer decided to hold the latest meeting of its global executive committee at the co-located shows, Australian chief executive Marc Margetts could not have envisaged the plaudits that would follow.

The group, which convenes several times a year, acts as a think tank and reports to the Japanese HQ on market trends and demands for new innovations.

“Everyone [on the committee] I’ve spoken to has blown away by the standard of the show,” he said.

Business has been brisk on the stand, with a sale of Roland’s LEJ 640 hybrid UV LED inkjet printer occurring during the first hour of business at the show, said sales director John Wall.

Meanwhile, visitors have shown strong interest in the VersaUV LEF 12 compact flatbed and BN20 VersaStudio 20-inch printer/cutter.
