RoyleBind expands photobook offering with “breathtaking” covers

The process uses PUR adhesive and a “top-secret” printing process to create a point of difference, said managing director Cliff Royle.

He said the photobooks are unique in that they give customers the option to have full colour printing on both sides of a hardcover.

“Imagine if the only car in the world was a Holden. It might be badged differently overseas, but it’s still the same thing,” said Royle.

“Well it’s the same with photobooks. No matter where you go, they are always the same. My choice, however, has a better finish on the outside and has no end-papers either.”

Royle has patented the product, which he got international recognition at the Printing Industries of America awards. He said there has been global interest in the photobook cover technology.

Richard Rudzki, RoyleBind shareholder and former managing director of The Bindery, called the development “simply breathtaking”.

“Having spent a working life, in many parts of the world, in the manufacture of hard case books, this recent development in the RoyleBind stable of products is quite simply breathtaking.”

“Superior quality and uncomplicated manufacturing combine to deliver a finished result that dazzles, and with doubt will have a major impact in the photobook market.”

The product complements RoyleBind’s range of self-binding hard-cover products.
