Schoolpix switches to digital from silver halide

Schoolpix photographs around 100,000 pupils per annum, Tony Wouters, managing director, Schoolpix told Australian Printer, “The new machine is replacing our ageing Noritsu wet labs which are silver halide technology.”

Wouters says, “The major benefit of the Indigo 5600 is the speed and a reduction in consumables of approximately 50 per cent. It is cleaner to the environment, and has a greater range of substrates. It should allow us to move into the printing industry from a declining photo industry.”

Schoolpix photographs school children, traditional class groups and portraits, and delivers a range of photographic products.

Schoolpix has been capturing memories of children at schools throughout Victoria for more than 25 years. Tony Wouters, together with his wife Mandy, bring over 30 years of experience as specialist school photographers.
