Scodix starts up at Ipex

The varnish thickness is built up from multiple layers and can be varied between 20 and 70 microns on the same sheet to give textured effects. It can be applied to both sides of pre-printed sheets if needed.

The user interface supports variable data embossing for personalised applications, such as greeting cards, business cards, invitations, and stationary applications as well as photo albums and the like. It accepts PDF or TIFF files. The PC controller has an integral Rip.

The company has also developed an image editor for the Scodix1200 and says this allows accurate editing of the 5th separation within the printer’s user interface, without the need to send files back to the designer for adjustment.
