Screen extends Truepress 520 range

It will take the wraps off the Truepress Jet 520EX Color and the Truepress Jet520ZZ at GraphExpo 2010 in Chicago next week.

Using a newer Epson printhead the Jet520ZZ runs at 220m per minute, almost twice the 128m per minute of the current 520, to churn out 2,917 A4 pages per minute. It can also be configured, as an option, with a wider 570mm web.

A monochrome version of the 520EX was launched at Ipex, but new for GraphExpo is the upgrade to colour and the availability of an entry-level 64m per minute colour machine.

Peter Scott, northern region manager at Dainippon Screen Australia, said: “We believe the increase in speed, quality and versatility of the Truepress Jet range is of immense benefit to the book, newspaper, commercial and direct marketing sectors.”

Scott, who is travelling to Chicago for the launch, said the company expects the new machines to be available in Australia and new Zealand in the first quarter of 2011.

Meanwhile, the vendor has described its showing at last week’s combined PrintWorks/Visual Image Impact Expo show as a “complete success”.

“It really worked for us. At one stage we had three of the top four printing companies in the ANZ region on our stand, inspecting the quality of the Truepress Jet 520CP output,” Scott said.

“Over the three days of PrintWorks, we logged in excess of twenty interested parties in the Truepress Jet520 high volume inkjet family and over a dozen good leads on our wide-format UV printers.
