Screen says it is launching the Truepress Jet SX to meet the demand for a full-colour digital B2 sheet-fed press for cost-efficient, fast turnaround, duplex printing with full variable capability for short-run jobs.

Screen says it developed the Truepress Jet SX for conventional litho printers comfortable with B2 but wishing to offer a solution for short-run jobs; digital printers who want to enter the short-run B2 market; and inplant print centres with a requirement for B3/B2-based products.

Specifically designed and manufactured as a duplex machine, the Truepress Jet SX is compatible with conventional workflow and standard B2 and B3 stock and finishing equipment. It prints 1,620 simplex B2 sheets/hr or 810 duplex B2 sheets/hr and features VDP capability, touch panel operation, and printheads that jet ink at 1440 X 1440 dpi on to most offset stocks from 80-400gsm.

Screen also launched two new versions of the Truepress Jet520, which it says is the world’s most successful continuous-feed colour inkjet printer. A monochrome version – the Truepress Jet520EX, with a print speed of up to 128 m/min and a resolution of 720 x 360 dpi – is targeted at the on-demand direct mail and book printing markets, while the new Truepress Jet520 CP package combines high-resolution 720 x 720 dpi imaging with an entry-level price tag that will attract users with lower print volumes into the colour digital market. Screen believes it is a viable option for any business printing more than one million impressions per month.

It will demonstrate the Truepress Jet520 CP package printing on new grades of gloss coated paper that have been specifically developed for use with it. The Truepress Jet520 range of engines includes both single engine duplex and dual engine duplex options.
