Sepiax appoints Anitech as Australian distributor

Commenting on the agreement, Barry Grant, general manager at Anitech, says, “We were delighted to win the distributorship for Sepiax inks, as we know already that a lot of interest has been shown in these products by Australian printers. The inks fit well with our policy to bring revolutionary new systems and technologies to the Australian market.”

Sepiax confirms that it evaluated a “number of serious offers from potentially good partners” before finally deciding upon Anitech. Stewart Partridge, Sepiax’s sales director for the region says, “Anitech is a creative distributor, with sound forward vision, an excellent service and distribution network throughout the country, and importantly in these times, financially secure. We are looking forward to fully supporting their efforts in Australia.”

While Sepiax inks will work on several printer platforms using Epson printheads, Anitech plan to evaluate options fully before committing to which platform they will launch to the market with Sepiax inks.

Partridge says, “Our inks are not plug and play inks. They have to be correctly installed onto the required printer platform and optimised to give the best and most consistent production results. So we know that it will take a little while for Anitech to complete their tests and make the right decisions.”

Since its launch in July 2009 the Sepiax “aquares” ink has attracted much media attention and critical review as an alternative to higher-temperature solutions. Yoong Lee, the Anitech business manager responsible for introducing the product says, “This is not just another ink product; this is the start of a new, cleaner and safer direction in digital printing technology. We are pleased to be pioneering its introduction into Australia.”
