Singapore supplier sets up shop in Australia

“This will be the dawn of Ryobi business in a very important market where their advanced technology is much sought after,” says Herbert Cheong, Cyber CEO.

Under the new arrangements, former Ryobi distributor, Agfa Gevaert Limited, is transferring its key staff, dealers and service network to Cyber to ensure uninterrupted service to Ryobi users in Australia.

Cyber has been in partnership with Ryobi Ltd for about 30 years. From its humble start in Singapore, the group has grown to the point where it also maintains well-organised companies in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia and is now setting its sights on Australia.

Over three decades, Cyber has installed several thousand Ryobi machines in south east Asia and the company now intends to build the Ryobi brand and boost its installed base significantly in Australia.

In recognising Cyber’s sales and service achievements, Ryobi has chosen the Singapore-based company to be its distributor in Australia, and with that appointment, has promised strong support.

Prior to making the decision to set up shop in Australia, Cyber studied the local market and concluded that Australian printers would be inclined to invest in equipment based on technologies and services which the Ryobi and Cyber partnership could provide.

Cyber will shortly announce further details of its new operation in Australia and its appointment as local distributor by Akiyama International Company Limited and the brands of several other well-known prepress and postpress partners.
