Smooth changeover for Sydney Allen after Focus sale

Mark Shergill, owner of Focus Print Group and buyer of distressed printer Sydney Allen has assured the industry the transition has been ‘seamless’ and it continues to trade with minimal disruption.

The troubled printer was rescued by Shergill less than a month after it collapsed into administration, and the Focus boss says Sydney Allen will remain on-site at Condell Park, operating as a stand-alone business.

Sydney Allen owner John Mangos has also stayed with the business and has managed the operations since the handover. All the staff on deck when Shergill took over also remain with the business, and no machinery will be sold from the premises.

“Customers have soon realised that it is business as usual with the same great quality and quick turnaround times.  Staff morale has improved as they see the increasing volume of work coming through the door and the stability of the company becoming evident by the loyalty of its customers”, says Shergill.

“We want to align ourselves with loyal customers and suppliers during this time of industry consolidation.”

Sydney Allen’s Condell Park location is only a short way from the Focus South Strathfield premises, and Shergill says the two teams have integrated smoothly.

Next year Shergill will celebrate 30 years since starting his company, initially known as Jamar Printing.
