Southern Colour unveils new look

A company statement outlines, “Our extensive investment in press technology, workflow systems, environmental certifications and personnel reflects the need to radically evolve. It was during this process that we realised our brand identity no longer represented Southern Colour’s core brand values and future direction.”

According to Southern Colour, the challenge was to evolve the visual identity to match the company culture and practice, refresh and reinforce Southern Colour’s commitment to the graphic arts industry and distance itself from the “Southern of old”.

The fundamental design philosophy behind the building blocks that now define the new Southern Colour logo is stability, the company adds.

As well as taking out 11 awards at last week’s NSW PICA awards, the company is making further headway by upgrading its Sydney operation’s pre press system, to bring it in line with its Melbourne facility.

This upgrade includes new servers and PDF work flow. Both cities can deliver the same pre press solution and have the ability to simultaneously output in either Sydney & Melbourne proofs or printing plates.
