Despite its best efforts to promote recycling, that incude the establishment of 1200 new collection points, mobile phone games and an extensive advertising campaign, Switzerland´s recycling rate fell from 72 per cent in 2002 to 71 per cent in 2003. Swiss law requires a 75 per cent recycling rate for packaging materials.
