Tennyson responds to customer demand with SGP programme

Established in 1961, the family-run Crestmead based print business says it has always looked for new and innovative ways to cater to its customers and aid the community around it.

Ali Simpson, marketing and environmental co-ordinator at Tennyson Group said following numerous requests for eco-friendly printing, Tennyson Group seized the opportunity to undertake Printing Industries’ SGP Level 2 to provide a better service to its customers whilst reducing costs and contributing to environmental sustainability.

Simpsons says, “The program has helped us and our employees identify the impact of our operation on the environment allowing us to make changes throughout the workplace that have significantly decreased our environmental footprint and operating costs.

“Owing to the success that we have seen with SGP Level 2 we are keen to start work on gaining Level 3 accreditation. This will provide a much more in depth look at the cause and effect of our waste production, which we believe is essential in reducing unnecessary environmental waste and costs.”

Simpson also said the reduction in waste would add value to the products produced and ultimately improve the company’s operating environment.

SGP is available to printing companies across Australia and provides a multi-level system via four linked achievement levels including ISO 14001 which is achievable at Level 3 SGP.
