Time to start PICA planning says PIAA

Joe Kowalewski, national communication and technical services manager at Printing Industries says it is important companies start to identify their best work for entry into the state awards and not leave selection until the last minute.

He says, “All entrants also need to familiarise themselves with the categories available and the descriptions accompanying those categories to ensure their jobs are entered correctly.

“Learning from last year’s awards it was apparent that some entries were incorrectly categorised and relevant information not completed or missing from entry forms, particularly where multiple entries were concerned.”

The Association outlines that this year some of the state award forms have been re-designed and some categories changed to make them easier to complete and integrate with the National print Awards, so it’s important that whoever is completing the paperwork for companies takes the time to carefully read and complete the entry forms.

Kowalewski adds that the Call for Entries dates would be progressively announced during the next few weeks and entry forms made available.

Award presentation dates have been set for:

  • Tasmania – August 7
  • Western Australia – August 28
  • South Australian/ Northern Territory – October 8
  • Victoria –October 15
  • New South Wales – November 5
  • ACT PAGE Awards – November 19
  • Queensland – November 27
