Toyo taps technology

The ink giant took a high-tech approach to its presence at the show, presenting next generation display technologies such as liquid crystal display and organic EL display.

The company’s booth theme of ‘Value you can see’ is based around three major areas:

Concept corner introduced basic business strategies and product development status through the video. The corner for publishing and commercial printing products introduced proprietary, high functional products such as environmentally friendly offset inks, UV curing inks and EB curing inks.

The packaging products corner introduced products such as environmentally friendly gravure inks, flexography inks and functional coating agents. The final area was for specialty chemical products, showing chemical products such as resist inks for LCD colour filters and materials for organic EL display in addition to the related technologies; these chemical products are developed by the application of Toyo’s core technologies.

Toyo says that its TK Hy-Unity Series sheetfed offset inks that were on display meet the need for diversified printing needs such as eco-compliance, colour reproduction properties and gloss. The “Easy-to-use” ink features featured good emulsification stability and improved ink-water balance, realised from studying a raw material based on a newly developed resin.

The Electron Beam (EB) curing system drew plenty of attention at the show, bringing high productivity from its high energy curing process. It contains no solvents and has excellent curing and crosslinking properties, according to Toyo.
