Trelleborg launches new blanket line

Featuring a new carcass construction and bottom layer in polyester, the Vulcan Coating blanket has been designed for spot, knock-out and flood applications with both UV and aqueous coatings.

According to Trelleborg’s Marco Carlini, the blanket is the result of requests from packaging printers for a blanket for spot coating. Tested for eight months before it was launched at drupa, the blanket is mylar-based to provide stretch resistance, and is particularly suited too larger format presses.

“WE received many requests from package printers to make a blanket that improved thier spot varnishing,” said Carlini. “We designed and tested this blanket and found that it gives good mechanical stability, and is an advantage forspot gluing too.”

DS Chemport’s Ken Rendell told ProPrint that the blanket is commercially available in Australia and New Zealand immediately.
