Trendsetting Print aims for profit hike

ACT outfit Trendsetting Print is hoping to attract new clients and increase its sales by 20 per cent after investing in a new Ricoh Pro C7110. The printer’s services include digital, conventional print such as presentation folders and packaging, bindery and finishing, and ancillary services including promotional items, and web design.

Speaking with Australian Printer, Debbie Lind, managing director of Trendsetting Print, says the investment in the press will boost the company’s range of print services, especially due its five colour option and banner mode, which will attract more clients. Lind says, “We have seen a slight growth in the bindery and booklets section, and hoping to further increase our services with the Pro C7110’s five colour option, which will be a point of difference for us compared to other printers. “The machine, we hope, increases our sales by at least 20 per cent after it is installed in August. We have been using the Pro C901, which has been reliable and produces good quality work but we needed to upgrade. “That is why we have maintained our loyalty to Ricoh, who has been great with their service and support.” She says the business, which she purchased after it went into liquidation and currently employs four people, does go through some rough times. Lind says, “The business is up and down. Like any other printer, we are good one day and next day it’s dead.

“But since we are small it doesn’t take much for us to be really busy. We get quite busy in December and then again in June/July. “We mostly service the government but that is not all, we also have private sector customers such as education, consultants, it is a mix bag really.” Lind says that while her business has wide format capability with its HP Latex press, and says it is a growing market, she wants her business to concentrate on small format printing. “Everyone is doing wide format, and I know that it is a growing sector, but I want us to have a point of difference. We can still supply our customers with wide format services but it is not our focus. “We are hoping that the five colour option and the banner mode of the Ricoh Pro C7110 will make sure that we hit our targets and grow our business. “But that is not to say that in 12-months time we will not change direction and focus more on wide format.”
