Laser flatbed manufacturer Trotec Australia is acquiring NSW-based signage supplier Project Engraving and Digital (PED), thanks to unprecented growth in the Australian market. Simon Moore, managing director of Trotec Australia, says the company has a global strategy of delivering to its customers a complete solution for all their machinery and consumable requirements – which the merger will help facilitate. He says, “This is an extremely exciting time for both businesses. Project Engraving and Digital has been the leading supplier of both consumables and mechanical engraving solutions in Australia for more than 35 years. Trotec can provide direct service and support to customers in Australia. Being able to make one contact for all their production requirements will be a win-win for our customers.

Trotec says it wishes to create more opportunities in key industries serviced by PED, such as the Vytek range of industrial machinery. Adrian Holdaway, CEO of PED, says the move from agent to manufacturer is an important step for the company; he says, “There were many factors in our decision to become part of the Trotec family, however our staff and customers remained our first priority. “The opportunity to work directly with our customers and solve issues as a manufacturer as opposed to being an agent was extremely important. “Additionally, our staff will benefit from advanced training and additional development opportunities globally which we could not provide.” Holdaway says staff will keep their jobs as Project Engraving and Digital is becoming a Trotec subsidiary. All PED staff have accepted contracts with Trotec.
