Laser specialist Trotec will be debuting its SP2000 laser at Visual Impact when it opens on Wednesday. Earlier this year the SP2000 won the prestigious European Digital Press Association (EDP) at Fespa for the Best Laser Cutting System.
Trotec says the SP2000 shares the same design features as the SP3000. Open to all four sides and with a V-shaped body, the SP series of laser cutters allows easy access to the working area for efficient loading and unloading of materials for high-volume and high-speed cutting applications.
Trotec says attendees can see firsthand how the SP2000, with its 1680 x 2510 mm working area, can process acrylics, wood and textiles for the signage, display and digital print industries.

Reece Moore, managing director of Trotec Laser Australia and New Zealand says, “This is an exciting opportunity for people in the signage and print industries to get up close to such a large laser machine and see it working with their own eyes at the show. We are really looking forward to demonstrating the SP2000’s features, including its JobControl Vision camera system for cutting large printed materials.
“Trotec’s large format machines have only been shown at a handful of trade shows around the world and we are delighted to be bringing the SP2000 to Australia.”
Moore says the SP series has been developed with the signage and printing industries’ needs in mind. A fully enclosed beam path and easy access to the working area keep operators safe, while Sonar Technology auto-focusing, a travelling exhaust and cutting speeds up to 1m/sec ensure high productivity without any compromise on the quality of finish.
Visitors to the Trotec stand (E16) at Visual Impact Sydney will see live demonstrations of the SP2000, as well as the smaller speedy flatbed lasers, SpeedMarker high-speed marking lasers and Trotec’s own range of sheet materials and engraving consumables.
