UPM launches plywood for large format print

UPM's WISA-Image plywood is especially developed as a rigid substrate for direct digital printing, but can also be used for silk screen printing.

WISA-Image is a special plywood overlaid with unique coating system. It is pre-treated for direct print and it has a non reflective white surface with excellent adhesive properties.

UPM says the digital print quality is high, colour fast and UV tolerant. The panels are under the PEFC scheme, and can be reused or recycled after the use.

The material is suitable for constructional, long term outdoor end uses, like signs. It is durable and rigid – it endures the outside weather conditions very well. This makes it an interesting alternative to plastics and aluminium. So far the product has been used with a success for example in football stadiums' and building sites' advertisement fencing systems.
