Video: Steven Badger showcases CPP’s latest print capabilities at FESPA Global Print Expo

Canon Production Printing (CPP) Group’s Steven Badger has showcased the latest upgrades to its flagship Colorado M-series at FESPA Global Print Expo in Berlin, as well as a new AI tool that helps support the creation of elevated print applications on Canon Arizona printers.

Badger demonstrated the latest applications from the Canon Colorado M-series printer and also discussed upgrades to the M-series at FESPA, held in Berlin last week.

“The Colorado M-series 4.5 is building on what we’ve already got at the moment, which is the ability now to print soft signage amongst other things and with a thicker media weight,” he said.

“We went from 0.8mm now to 1.6mm so even things such as thicker magnetic media stock is printable on the Colorado, and a part of that is our soft signages like our silicon edge graphics.

“The Colorado is a true work workhorse for most of our customers. It’s the product that enables our customers to get home early on weeknights and not have to come into work on the weekends. So, it’s really expanding the application range for customers that already have a Colorado or new and potential customers.”

Badger also highlighted Canon’s new prototype AI-powered print tool that helps support the creation of elevated print applications on Canon Arizona printers.

“What we’re trying to show here is that through the integration of AI, we can drastically reduce the time our elevated print output,” Badger said of the prototype.

“I think this is really just the beginning of the how AI is integrating with print and with our technology to give us these fantastic results.”

Canon’s stand at FESPA featured a concept store demonstrating the creative and commercial possibilities of conceptual and real-world brands’ wide format graphics applications, including interior décor, packaging and POS.
