Vistaprint launches Facebook calendar service

The app, which is Vistaprint’s first, uses account holders’ existing information such as tagged photos, profile images and friends’ birthdays to create a calendar, and can be further customised with additional content and templates.

The Vistaprint service is embedded in the digitally created calendar, enabling the user to buy a printed version within a few clicks.

Vistaprint CRM associate marketing manager Emma Costello said: “We wanted to create a branding device that consumers could use all year round rather than just a seasonal tool.

“Socially Bright has helped us to understand the capabilities of the Facebook API and develop a product that I think any Facebook user would love – not just the forgetful ones.”

Vistaprint managing director for Asia Pacific Mike Ewing (pictured) told ProPrint: “Vistaprint’s Facebook app will be enhanced with Australia specific functionality in the next week at which point we’ll determine the best way to promote the functionality on our Facebook fan page.”

“[The app] features fantastic birthday reminders throughout the year and creates a great link to a printed calendar product and the integration with facebook to populate pictures from your existing facebook friends is really easy to use.”
