Worldwide Online’s hub looks at shifting offset work to digital with Kodak NexPress

The offset and digital business is currently replacing Fuji Xerox machinery with the NexPress, bought through Kodak’s partner, Konica Minolta.

The renovation and installation is expected to complete on 28 April.

Crystal Printing managing director Arnold Whiteside said the printer’s relationship with Fuji Xerox was a positive one, but upgrading to a NexPress was the right step.

“The relationship and the support that we get from Xerox is great, but we are wanting to see significant growth in volumes,” he said,

“In looking at our options, in terms of technology with greater capacity, the NexPress was the next logical move.

“It will service our business and the entire Worldwide network; we also see the ‘offset-transfer’ potential as being quite significant.”

Whiteside added that the SX upgrade to the machine was a major pull.

Kodak said that the SX upgrade will be available at the end of June and will give NexPress users the option to upgrade capacity, speed, software and toner.
