Young print owner makes appeal: help me hit $10m mark

Xuereb, 24, said he wanted to transform Melbourne-based Mediapoint from a $1 million sticker specialist into a diverse business that turned over $5 million to $10 million per year.

The company has just invested $190,000 in a large-format HP Scitex FB700 as part of the transformation, he told ProPrint.

The device will allow the four-person operation to print on corflute, PVC and composite panels once it arrives in mid-September, he added.

Xuereb was 18 when he started Mediapoint in 2006 with his older brother, Jason. Both men have a business background.

Xuereb said that after working with 3,000 clients in the company’s short history, the focus was now on being selective and learning how to sell more to existing clients.

He told ProPrint that he wanted to soak up knowledge from someone who knew what it was like to build a multimillion-dollar business.

“My issue at the moment is trying to get to the next level which I’m unsure about, being inexperienced in the industry,” he said.

Mediapoint’s 500sqm premises also houses two HP L2550s, an HP L26500, a Primer CX 1200 label press and a Memjet Rapid X1 continuous roll-to-roll printer, he said.
