First away are the Tasmanian and Western Australian events. The Tasmanian Awards will be held on August 5 in Hobart. Western Australia will stage its award on August 27 in the Astral Ballroom of the Burswood Entertainment Complex. Entries close on July 15.
November is set to be a marathon awards month with Victoria and South Australia & NT staging their awards on November 4; New South Wales, November 11; the ACT Page Awards on November 18 and the Queensland PICA on November 19.
Joe Kowalewski national communication and technical services manager at Printing Industries said call for entry close-off dates for the November events would be announced over the next couple of weeks.
He says, “While the number of industry companies has been declining, the entry numbers has been increasing making each event more competitive than the last.
“This is due in part to the changed structure in which the only way to enter the best-of-the best National Print Awards is by winning a gold medal in the state events; the uniform criteria and branding of the PICAs around the country and the increased recognition that winning an award at any level is a valuable marketing tool to use with clients and potential clients.”
Kowalewski adds that entrants should pay particular attention to ensuring their work is well presented and that entry forms have been correctly filled in.
He says, “Carefully check the category list to ensure the correct category has been selected and make sure all sections relevant to that entry has completed, especially where technical information is required.
“Also remember that each entry needs an individual entry form. If an individual piece is intended for more than one category, it is best to submit a work sample for each where practical with the additional entry form.”
