The 2015 National Print Awards saw 44 printers win 95 medals, including 25 golds, plus four sponsors awards and the Judges Award for best overall print job.
The big winners were Offset Alpine, which won three gold medals, and Advance Press from Perth taking out the Judges Award.
Collotype Labels and Adams Print won two apiece with Blue Star and Collotype winning the biggest number of medals with seven each.
Award sponsor Media Super awarded two print executives on each end of the spectrum, one whose career is getting going and another recognised for a lifetime of achievement.
Blue Star Web supply chain and pre-production manager Sean Thompson was named Young Executive of the Year, having worked his way up from a general hand in 2006.
Buckner Group chairman Malcolm Buckner was recognised for his 37-year print career, including helping to set up the PICAs, with the inaugural Industry Legend Award.
Some 473 printers attended print’s night of nights at the The Waterview in Bicentennial Park, Sydney, with the winners taking the accolades of their peers and industry figures over a sumptuous meal. Entertainment was provided by pop singer Wendy Matthews.
