The company says the new contract consolidates APN Outdoor’s position as a leading provider of metro rail and roadside billboard advertising in the Melbourne market.
Under the seven year contract which commences on December 1, APN Outdoor will retain its current concession to manage 190 existing advertising panels and will also manage an additional 40 existing panels. Significant development plans within the contract will see APN Outdoor build a further 40 new trackside Super 6 (6m x 3m) billboards.
Substantial upgrades will be made to selected 6m x 3m roadside advertising panels under the development plan, with 15 existing sites to be converted to 4.5m x 3m high impact portraits and 25 existing sites to 8.2m x 2.2m premium landscape panels.
Richard Herring, CEO of APN Outdoor says, “We’re thrilled to retain and expand our existing partnership with Metro Trains Melbourne. The development of new trackside billboards enables us to expand our current rail solution and offer more choice to advertising clients.
“Rail advertising has been proven to deliver a highly captive audience with 75 per cent of commuters waiting for up to ten minutes on platforms, providing advertisers with unique opportunities for engagement and interaction.
“In addition, the upgrades to the existing roadside panels will provide valuable new opportunities in key areas within Melbourne’s vibrant Large Format landscape, and we are pleased to be able to offer more premium sites in this important market.”
