Auspack has kick started its four day event today, and it expects some 8000 packaging professionals to come through the doors of the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre to check out the latest products until the event ends on Friday. Australia’s biggest packaging show – in its 30th year – will exhibit hundreds of new products from 1200 brands, with some 315 suppliers exhibiting, more than three times the number at PrintEx and evidence of the good health of the growing packaging industry.
The exhibition will also be the host for 70 international manufacturers and 80 first time suppliers with more than 200 new brands, as well as the old timers such as ABB, Esko, Heat and Control, tna, Insignia, HBM, and Krones. The organisers say they have produced the 2015 APPMA Member Directory, which is available at stand 255, to help visitors find their way around the exhibition. APPMA says AusPack is suited for visitors who are looking for one source for all of their packaging and processing machinery and allied components solutions. The 2015 AIP National Technical Forum will also run during Auspack and include speakers from packaging industry’s biggest producers, brands, and manufacturers. The four-day forum will cover a wide variety of topics from innovation to new technology and machinery, industry performance, robots, brand building, food safety, bioplastics, and chemical migration. Speakers include 29 Australians and eight internationals from companies like Amcor, Coles, Coco-Cola Amatil, Krones, Matthews, Nestle, and Orora. Auspack 2015 will include:
- New machinery suitable for operations in fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, materials handling, consumers goods, chemicals, automotive, and printing.
- More processing exhibitors including plant equipment and processing technology.
- Live demonstrations of technologies for integrating packaging and processing.
- Global innovations allowing packaging companies to increase results and decrease operating costs.
- Product launches of the latest solutions for increasing efficiency, and other technologies from around the world.
Auspack will also host networking drinks tonight at 5.30pm, and the APPMA Industry Excellence Awards will be held tomorrow night.
