Bailey Print Group honours staff, clients, and suppliers at 40th anniversary function

Brisbane-based wide format, signage, and vehicle wrap business Bailey Print Group has reached a monumental milestone – 40 years in existence. To commemorate the occasion, the company hosted an anniversary celebration at its Salisbury facility surrounded by clients, suppliers, and staff.

Bailey Print Group’s Samantha Bailey-Jensen

At the event, Bailey Print Group co-director Samantha Bailey-Jensen said, “40 years ago, this business started with one man’s dream to create something his family could build together and leave a legacy for the future.

“Over the decades, as we have evolved and grown, our values have remained the same – quality, innovation, authenticity, and integrity. What started as a passion in print and a strong work ethic has grown into a company that brings colour, creativity, and storytelling to life across Queensland and beyond.

“Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working on projects that have truly shaped Brisbane’s visual history – we’ve literally helped colour Brisbane through every era, one project, one print, one story at a time.

“To our wonderful team, both present and past, thank you. You are the heartbeat of Bailey Print. Your work, talent, creativity, commitment, and teamwork keep us moving forward every single day. To our business services team, you are always our steady hand in our time of chaos.

“To our clients, many of you who’ve been with us for decades, thank you. We approach every brief with the same mindset to make it happen, no matter what it takes. The trust, the belief that Bailey Print Group will deliver is what drives us every day.

“To our families, thank you for your love, patience, and unwavering support. Your understanding and encouragement give us the strength to keep striving and to continue building the Bailey legacy. And to Peter and Halina, it takes a certain kind of chemistry to work together. Through the decades, the ups and downs, we’ve always had each other’s backs.

“We’re so proud that this business just isn’t about signs and print – it’s about people, family, and the values that have shaped us from the very beginning. Here’s to four decades, one legacy, and to many more years ahead.”

Bailey Print Group co-director Peter Bailey recounted the business’ early beginnings – from why his father Ron launched Banner Specialists (Bailey Print’s former name) in 1985, to how his mother Halina used to sew banners under their family home.

He also addressed how technological advancements impacted the business positively over the years, in addition to how COVID was a pivotal moment in the company’s history.

Speaking about the company’s more recent wins, Peter announced Bailey Print’s signing of a new contract with Energy Queensland for another 10 years of pole banners with exclusivity in Southeast Queensland.

“It gives us viability with our future, in terms of employment of our current staff and new staff, as well as the ability to procure new equipment and print machines. It also means new vehicles to install our banners at night. It just takes us towards the future and gives us the benefit of a better one,” he said.

Peter also thanked the hardworking team of Bailey Print, saying they are the individuals shaping the future of the business.

“We are a 20-hour, six days a week company. Without our amazing team, we would be unable to do that,” he said.

“To my mum, thank you for giving Samantha and myself the opportunity to do what we do and build our dreams and make them come alive. To my wonderful sister, Samantha, through thick and thin, the Bailey rollercoaster has taken us on a wild journey together, but neither of us have ever fallen off.

“To my beautiful wife, Zoe, thank you for understanding my late nights and early starts, and for being who you are. To our late father, none of this would have happened without you.”

Outdoor Network Australia’s Brendon Cook

Outdoor Network Australia founder Brendon Cook, who has known the Bailey family for years and worked in partnership with them in the past, spoke at the event, praising the company for growing from humble beginnings to becoming the respected business it is today.

“My brother Noel, mate Jason Bell, and I started a billboard businesses called oOh!media, but in those days, we were a representation business. So, we found people like Ron and Halina who were building billboards and sold them,” he said.

“Naturally, they did very well for themselves, but most importantly, for us, their ethics and focus on relationships enabled us to continue to grow our business. Today, it is the biggest out-of-home company in Australia.

“A lot of that came down to the family’s attitude – they are very strong in their values, and those values have shone through throughout all my time of knowing them. Trust, professionalism, the way they build quality relationships, the service that they provide their clients, that has been known to me since 1990 when I first met the family.

“As we celebrate 40 years of this business today, those traits very much exists today as they did before.

“To say that it has been an incredible journey is when you grow up yourself, but to grow up in the business and grow up with the people in it is one of the most amazing things one can do in their lives. Samantha, Peter, and Halina have achieved that.

“And it’s a credit and honour to the legacy Ron, the founder and father figure of Bailey Print Group, built. So, congratulations, team, on a great 40 years.”

Brisbane mayor Adrian Schrinner, who was a special guest at the event, spoke about the importance of family-run businesses and celebrating those that transcend over multi-generations.

“There are so many things to love about the Bailey Print story, especially the family business element of it. It’s very rare. There are a lot of family businesses, but the reality is, most do not make it past the first generation. To have a family business that’s going from strength to strength, through 40 years, is something worth celebrating,” he said.

“Seeing Bailey Print’s work, like the pole banners that were first introduced to Brisbane for World Expo 88, show the amazing opportunities of partnerships between businesses and government. And just thinking about 2032 and all the banner, signage, and wrap opportunities to come, I know that Bailey Print Group will be a part of that history.”

Bailey Print Group was a finalist in 2020 in the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Awards for Outstanding Small Business.
