Canon Australia introduces the imageRUNNER iR C6800

With its ability to print 68 A4 black and white A4 and 15.5 full colour pages per minute, the Canon imageRUNNER iR C6800 is in the upper echelon of black and white multifunctional devices on the market. It is capable of printing at maximised resolutions up to 9600x600dpi, and is rated for a maximum duty cycle of 150,000 impressions per month.

The iR C6800 is designed to automatically detect documents that require colour, printing all others via the faster, black and white process. In addition, the administrator can determine which users may print in colour and when, allowing appropriate expense management.

Kevin Ferrari, Canon Australia national product manager for Office Imaging Solutions, says, “Canon offers truly smart use of colour, and only Canon can offer colour-capable printers like the iR C6800 which cost barely more than their black and white-only counterparts,” said. “With the iR C6800, our customers don’t have to choose between grunt and glamour – they can have it all, and they can have it affordably.”

The speed of the iR C6800 can be attributed in part to its implementation of Ultra Fast Rendering (UFR), an image-processing technology that was developed in Australia at Canon’s CISRA laboratories.

The iR C6800 is a multifunctional printing, copying and scanning device that can function as a complete communications hub, with the ability to scan-to-email, scan to a database / file or scan-to-internet-Fax (iFAX). Also featured is standard high-speed colour duplexing and support for many media stocks up to 250gsm, as well as wide range of finishing options including professional saddle stitch booklet making.
