Available for installation from March 2010, the series has been designed for professional print providers with lower volume production requirements than those of imagePRESS customers, including print-for-pay customers, in-plants, and small or new-to-digital commercial printers, as well as established digital print service providers looking to increase back-up or flexibility.
“What is most important about this new series is the huge leap in efficiency it will give printer businesses,” said Craig Manson, senior general manager of marketing at Canon Australia. “Yes, it offers outstanding quality, speeds and finishing options, but this is a series that will mean significant commercial opportunities for printers because of the new level of efficiency it brings, through greater uptime and flexible finishing.”
The C9075 and C9065 offer running speeds for full colour output of 70 and 60 pages per minute respectively, with a maximum image resolution of 1200×1200 dpi. They can handle coated and uncoated stocks up to 300gsm, with sheet sizes larger than SRA3, including duplex.
The new models also offer a range of finishing options, including professional punching, stapling up to 100 sheets, saddle stitching up to 20 sheets, booklet trimming, and five types of folding on weights from 52 to 105gsm: Z-fold, letter fold in, letter fold out, half fold and double parallel fold.
“We are seeing a rapid evolution in the market for high quality, on-demand print at lower production volumes,” said Manson. “Print owners are looking to capitalise on all possible revenue streams, so flexibility, with no sacrifice in quality, is critical.
“I would urge all printers looking to invest in variable volume capacity, or who are new to digital, to see a demonstration of this series, just to believe the commercial and creative potential this offers.”
