Canon, Spicers and FH Booth unite for a good cause

FH Booth, based in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville, printed the calendars, while Canon waived the service charges and Spicers supplied the paper.

Tony Magafas, owner of FH Booth, said he opted to produce the job on a Canon ImagePress 7000 because he wanted a digital machine that could produce extremely fine dots without any dot gain.

He said he opted for Monza stock as it was good for high-end colour production.

Shane McClelland, marketing communications manager at Canon, described the finished product as an "example of the quality that can be achieved with Canon's ImagePress".

The Grand Delusions calendar features 12 women aged from 50 to 70, photographed in an art nouveau style.

November model Virginia Loretto has multiple sclerosis, which is what inspired Miss December, Chrissie Whitlook, to dream up the idea of the calendar.

The calendars went on sale in December. Of the 1,200 printed, about 1000 have been sold, said Whitlook.

Calendars cost $16 and all money raised goes to MS Australia. Phone Chrissie Whitlook on 0408 273 672 for a copy.
