CGS introduces Oris Certified Proof

Andreas Kaemmerer, CGS president, says, “CGS is the leader in making the proofing process objective, taking out the guess work. Our AutoCal process in Oris Color Tuner is a good example of this. Oris Certified Proof is another milestone for us. It makes proof measurement and verification something that anyone can do, even a non-expert.”

ORIS Certified Proof users measure a simple colour target printed in the margin of a proof, using a GretagMacbeth Eye-One (supplied with the system). The software quickly analyses the measurements, comparing them with industry-standard data, such as SWOP or FOGRA. Proofs outside acceptable parameters are immediately flagged, and the out-of-gamut reference colours identified. When a proof is within the desired specifications, a label is automatically printed on a supplied label printer, to document the process.

Measurement data can be saved and used for trend analysis. Although SWOP and FOGRA reference data are supplied with the system, users can also specify their own target parameters for the quality control process.
