The three day courses were directed by colour management expert David Crowther, effectively teaching topics such as profile creation, printer colour management, profile evaluation, profile editing and workflow.
According to the company feedback suggests that Chromaticity Australia is delivering the best colour management course currently available to the industry. Ben Russell, studio & photographic manager, Greg Russell Advertising, made the comment, “Over the past four years we have been developing our colour management systems by working with various printers and attending many of the short courses that are being developed to fill a knowledge gap in our industry. I found the Chromaticity Advanced Colour course to be best so far due to the topics covered and the manner in which it was delivered. The course reaffirmed my knowledge and gave me confidence to push forward in the field of colour management.”
Similar responses were given by other professionals, Mark Soulie, advertising quality control manager of News Ltd NSW said, “The course has given me a stronger belief in what I already knew. It has placed foundations and broadened my understanding of concepts of ICC. ICC editing was particularly useful; the knowledge of whether to edit the source or destination point is highly beneficial.”
The courses have attracted attention across the industry and, not only do candidates get the certification at the end, they also receive ongoing resources to develop their skills.
The courses were overall deemed a success and Chromaticity Australia is looking forward to delivering both Advanced Colour Management and RGB Digital Output courses throughout 2005.
