Colorpak flaunts new brand and new business

Alex Commins, managing director of Colorpak says the rebrand is an important step in the integration of the CHH operations and employees into the Colorpak business.

He says, “As you know, Colorpak is going through a period of rapid change. At the end of June last year our revenues were at $80m. When you think that back in 1985 our turnover was just $1.5m, you can understand why we were pretty proud of that number.

“But now, here we are a year later, having purchased the Carter Holt Harvey carton business and projecting revenue for next year of over $200m.”

During the evening Commins announced a new specialised facility, which Colorpak has built at its Braeside plant in Victoria to manufacture high end paper cups and lids suitable for application in the super premium ice cream, confectionery, food and other markets.

He says, “The new facility is capable of producing in excess of 30 million paper cups and lids per year and we have signed contracts to produce the requirements for three of Australia’s premium ice cream manufacturers at this stage. And we are in talks with others.”

Attendees at the event were also given a rundown on Colorpak’s new Brandpack business, which Commins says is a centre of packaging intelligence.

“Those of you who were Carter Holt Harvey customers will know the name Montage Graphics. We are evolving Montage to a new level of service and expertise under the name of Brandpack.

“Brandpack works with what we call the four dimensions of packaging: material, construction, graphics and finishing, where you can go for solutions that help you stand out and stay ahead.”
