Canon staff have cooked more than 600 meals in a day to feed disadvantaged, homeless and vulnerable Australians in need.
Under the direction of professional chefs, the staff at Canon’s mid-year sales conference cooked the meals made from donated food in OzHarvest’s ‘Cooking for a Cause’ program.
Canon professional print senior general manager Mike Boyle says giving back to the community strengthened ties within the team.
“What they have achieved as an organisation should inspire us as individuals and even more so as a team that our actions can indeed make a positive difference, whether it is with the wider community or with our customers,” he says.
Each week OzHarvest collects more than 42 tonnes of food that would otherwise end up in landfill from more than 2000 donors. It delivers meals to more than 500 charities that feed people in need.
