Printers from 13 countries converged at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre last week, and viewed more than 150 stands servicing the visual communication and retail service industries.
Expo organisers said they were pleased that more than half the registered visitors were purchasing decision-makers.
Garry Knespal, from PrintCom organiser GASAA, said: “As the display, print and retail industry looks beyond their traditional market, the success of the co-located show in Sydney last year and now in Melbourne is significant.”
Knespal added: “Over 11,000 people have now been exposed to the wider business opportunities that exist through these co-located shows in Sydney and Melbourne in the past year.”
VIIE general manger Peter Harper said: “The strong attendance numbers, repeat visits over the three days and the large interstate contingent confirms the value of the co-located shows.”
However, the handful of major exhibitors who ProPrint spoke to were less than impressed with the footfall at their stands, though there was a general sense the quality of visitors was high.
Correction: Yesterday, ProPrint incorrectly reported that 11,000 people had attended the co-located Melbourne show. In fact 11,000 is the combined total of the Melbourne and Sydney shows this year.
