However, the business Mercedes Waratah Group Pty Ltd is continuing to trade under the name PrintLinx from its site in Port Melbourne.
Geoff Handberg, director of chartered accountants Rodgers Reidy, was appointed as liquidator on 17 October, after PrintWorld Victoria’s directors did not show up to contest the matter in court.
Handberg told ProPrint that his initial investigations indicated that there were unlikely to be any assets at the company.
“All the indications are there is no business, no trading entity. It is a shell, with probably some creditors, at least the ATO, and no assets,” he said.
The company’s directors are listed as Len Todisco and Peter Todisco.
ProPrint spoke to their brother, Michael Todisco, who had been a director of PrintWorld Victoria Pty Ltd until October 2010, when it was still known as PrintLinx, and is now sole director of Mercedes Waratah, trading as PrintLinx.
He would not comment beyond confirming that the tax bill was the liquidated company’s sole debt and that PrintLinx was continuing to trade with no staff changes.
According to court documents, the total owed to the ATO on 8 June was $1,525,033.17.
PrintLinx was renamed back in April, following a prolonged dispute between the print group and its landlord over unpaid rent.
