A Perth company has ordered the country’s first Komori half size long perfector, the Lithrone LS1029P, which was launched last year at Ipex. Gerard Wintle, national sales manager – machinery says, “There is a niche for a half sized long perfector, and we expect several more orders to follow once printers start to see the substantial benefits of one pass printing in this format.” A straight five-colour 40” Lithrone press with coater has also been ordered by a different Perth printer.
A quartet of Komoris have so far been ordered by Melbourne printers, with Whirlwind Press heading the order sheet by specifying a pair of presses, including a ten colour 40” long perfector, and a five colour 40” machine, with coater. CPI has also sold a six-colour 40” Komori to another Melbourne printer, and a six-colour half size Komori LS629 to Print Dynamics.
Queensland has again demonstrated its proclivity for the Komori super-perfector, Fergies Print and Mail has ordered the LS540SP, which is the stacked press, essentially a dedicated five over five unit. This follows the order for the stacked perfector from Platypus Graphics last year.
CPI is also currently overseeing the installation of two ten-colour 40” long perfectors into the Sydney market; one at Bright Print, the other at Focus Press
Wintle says, “Komori offers Australian printers a remarkably diverse range of presses, and clearly that range is appreciated, judging from our orders so far this year where printers have a great choice of machines to grow their specific businesses.”
