CPI to have finishing Open House

From June 27 to 29 visitors are invited to attend the Bindery Productivity Open House. The theme of the event is 'Improve your productivity and reduce your costs'.

The star of the show will be the most advanced Baumann paper handling system ever displayed in this country, representing the next generation of guillotine automation. It will include the completely automatic BASA jogging unit, and operate in line with a Wohlenberg pro-tec 137cm guillotine and automatic unloader.

This system will particularly appeal to larger printers who are looking for a quantum leap in guillotine productivity to match their increasing press output.

Rayne Simpson, CPI general manager print finishing, states that because the system is so highly automated, it leaves the operator completely free to concentrate on guillotining and maximising output.

He says, "Stock can be taken on the pallet from the press to the Baumann system, and everything is then automatic, up to the point that jogged stacks are delivered onto the guillotine table. We estimate that this system will jog up to 40,000 sheets per hour, presenting them directly to the guillotine ready for trimming."

Visitors will also be able to see the latest Osako Tener saddlebinder in operation. This popular model is a strong achiever in Australian binderies, due the high level of automation, and legendary reliability. It will feature for the first time in Australia with a fully automated trimmer.

Completing the display is the G&K high speed FA74 folder. This model will be outputting 16 page folded sections to an OMG 'Economic'stacker at a speed of 13,000 per hour.
