Creo Veris proofer achieves SWOP certification

Brad Palmer, Creo corporate vice president for inkjet proofing, says, “The SWOP certification assures our customers that their Veris proofer meets the established industry standards for web offset printing.”

The Veris proofer is designed for the creation of high-resolution contone proofs based on the Creo-developed Multi-Drop Array inkjet technology. This technology generates precisely formed three picolitre-sized ink drops and then accurately steers each to its exact, 1500dpi pixel location. Creo says this enables the Veris proofer to achieve colour control and image precision that was previously not possible with inkjet.

The Veris proofer is also designed to ensure customer confidence with the Creo Certified Process. When the Veris prints a proof, it checks that the system has been calibrated recently and that the calibration matches the correct media and ink along with the correct ICC profile. If all of these conditions are met, the Creo Certified Process stamp is printed on the proof along with a summary of all critical proofing parameters, for a visible confirmation of the quality-controlled proofing process.
