Currie books biggest-ever PrintEx stand

Currie Group has booked the largest stand in PrintEx history for next year’s show, at more than twice the size of the next largest exhibit. The heavyweight supplier is promising an ‘unrivalled experinece’ according to marketing manager Matt Tangey, who says the display will include prepress workflow, digital print, embellishment and automated finishing in an ‘exciting, fully integrated environment.’ Tangey says, “PrintEx is the only printing exhibition in 2015 and will be a fantastic opportunity for Sydney locals, interstate and overseas visitors alike to see the latest solutions in this extensive and unrestricted exhibitor space.”

David Currie, executive chairman, says technology on show at the stand will include the likes of HP Indigo, Horizon, Scodix, Foliant, Agfa, Cron, Omnet, ABGi, AVT and Kama. He says, “Our involvement at PrintEx is part of our continued investment in the industry – we know from experience that our customers like to see the latest equipment and automation on show, which is why we are not only committed to being there, but to increasing our showcase.” Currie will join Agfa Graphics, BJ Ball, Dainippon Screen, DES, Ferag and Kayell, along with Minipack, Trimat and Pelican Artline, Konica Minolta, Neopost Australia, Bottcher, Optimus, Tharstern and DSM Kalker. Organisers say other leading names are in the process of finalising their bookings. Mark Brindley, managing director of Agfa Graphics Oceania, which recently confirmed its attendance at the May 13 to 15 show in 2015, says his company is looking forward to connecting with the industry. He says, “We understand the challenges print service providers continue to face and we have been transforming our own business and product range to help them meet those challenges by improving efficiency, cutting costs, increasing margins and creating profitable new revenue streams.

“PrintEx15 will be an important destination for decision makers and an ideal environment for us to demonstrate our newly expanded range, which includes exciting new digital print capabilities from MGI, our own wide format inkjet equipment, prepress and workflow solutions and consumables.” Next year’s PrintEx will look a little different from previous events, co-located with Visual Impact at the Sydney Showground and featuring a new practical education component. Show chairman Phillip Rennell says, “It is the chance to see, compare and contrast offerings from the industry’s leading suppliers under one roof, discuss options and offers with the people behind the products, and to catch up with colleagues and industry friends. “The PrintEx15 Board has one firm objective for the Sydney show – to richly reward the time commitment of those who attend, either as exhibitors or visitors, with ideas, innovation, education, resources and opportunities to connect.”
