A major challenge for printers is to monitor if their presses are accurately printing colour consistently – Mellow Colour has addressed this problem with the recently launched PrintSpec (re-named from the successful ISOLithO) demonstrated on Mellow Colour stand 9 D 25.
New products include RetroSpec, for trend analysis over consecutive print runs, and InkSpec for quality control of spot colour. All three products are having successful debuts at this year’s IPEX. UK based Mellow Colour and Australian distributors DES, are already looking forward to a busy follow up with new installations in colour measurement and print precision solutions.
Proofing specialist, Rick Norris, of DES Australia is guiding potential users through the finer details of the software on the Mellow Colour stand. Clients from around the world are filling up appointments, keen to see how they can produce work to the ISO 12647 standard.
Doors are being opened everyday to develop new partnerships with international distributors to get a world wide network of printers using this sophisticated system, to achieve consistent colour device-to-device, proof-to-press, around the world.
Chromaticity Australia have colour management specialist David Crowther, demonstrating PrintSpec software on partner stand Stelhin Hostag 5 E-30. David has been inundated with enquiries for the colour control solution PrintSpec.
“So far the demand for PrintSpec software, and the two new products, InkSpec and RetroSpec, has been overwhelming,” says Crowther. “This has been a very successful week for us all, the ISO standard is now gaining a lot more awareness in the print industry, and PrintSpec is the perfect tool for consistency in the industry.”
Crowther is manager of Chromaticity Australia and carries out colour management training & consulting, working closely with proofing specialists and Australian distributors, DES.
