Simon Doggett, managing director of KW Doggett says,
"After researching the Adelaide
market, and in light of competitor consolidation, we felt that South Australian
printers and paper specifiers would welcome an independently owned and managed
paper merchant offering."
Catherine Doggett, the company's marketing manager, says,
"As in the other states Doggett's in Adelaide will merchant our range of
coated, uncoated and specialty papers, including our offering in synthetics, self
adhesives and pre cut labels. The diverse range of the Doggett product
portfolio will be stocked locally in the Pooraka warehouse and provide a new
and exciting product choice for the South Australia
printers and paper specifiers."
Doggett is the biggest independent paper merchant in the
country, by a long way, and the last few years have seen a consistent expansion
in the company's activities, including the establishment of a Sydney
branch to provide total eastern seaboard coverage.
Heading up the new branch will be current Melbourne
employee Chris Jackson, who has been with Doggett's for three years, during
which time he has been the driving force behind Doggett's successful pre cut
label and self adhesive business.
Simon Doggett says, "The business acumen Chris has
shown in developing the label business led us to believe he would be the
perfect candidate to lead the new South Australia
team. Doggett's is also keen to promote from within the Company to ensure the current
culture is instilled within the new branch operation."
Jackson and his young family will move across in February
and will be aiming to build a strong customer focused and service orientated team
in the Adelaide market. The local
team will consist of Chris, as State Manager, along with both customer service
and warehouse operations staff.
Right from the first day of trade in 1975, Doggett's has
been focused on customer relationships. The founder Ken Doggett's philosophy,
and one that has now become embedded in the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane
branches. is "to serve printers and paper specifiers on the basis of good
staff, good service and good products, and of course be approachable to all customers
big and small".
Ken, John, Simon and the
whole KW Doggett Fine Paper team say they are looking forward to meeting and developing strong business relationships within
the South Australian print and design markets over the coming months.
