Knespal is offering a choice of one week stays, either beginning May 2 or May 9, or a full two week stay for the more hardy souls. He says, “We have rooms booked at two great hotels in Dusseldorf, which means for our guests the Messe showground is just a tram ride away, and they can enjoy the Aldstadt in the evenings without having to worry about getting home to some distant location.”
However Knespal is urging printers to make their decisions soon, as without confirmed bookings the rooms at the hotels will have to be given up. He says, “We all know getting a room in Dusseldorf itself is not easy, which is why we book in advance. Printers who are going to drupa need to let me know as soon as possible so we can confirm the room for them, otherwise they may be faced with a stay in a town some way outside, which is never great.”
The Eastern Suburbs hotels are the Mercure in the city centre and the Mercure in the South Bilk district. Both are right next to tram stops. Land packages for the hotels start from $1600 per person twin share for the week.
Eastern Suburbs Travel will have Marty Knespal and his wife Sonia, also a director in the business, on the ground in Dusseldorf the whole time to assist their group members. The tour also includes an Aussie Night Dinner in Dusseldorf, as well as Happy Hours at various hotels, and partner tours to Cologne and Amsterdam.
In respect of air fares Knespal says, “There are great deals coming out fairly regularly now, and when we know a printer is going we will provide those fares, for instance Japan Airlines just had a business class fare to Europe for just over $5000: that is a great deal. There are some cracking economy class deals coming out as well.”
The drupa tour is being organised in association with Printing Industries.
